Panchakarma Treatments

VAMANA :     

​

Eliminating the Kapha dosha (toxins) through oral route is Vamana karma. Treatment begins with administration of Medicated ghee / oil  selected according to Prakriti, disease. Starting with minimum dose of medicine will be increased daily w.r.t to digestive ability of individual for the total duration of 3-7 days until the body turns soft and oily. This followed by Massage and steam bath with specific fatty diet for 2 days. On last day Vamana treatment will be carried out with administration of milk,  medicinal paste and decoction  that induces emesis which results in repeated eliminations of toxins. This helps in the  eradication of disease  from its root level.

VIRECHANA :


Elimination of Pitta dosha (toxins) through rectal route is  Virechana karma. Treatment begins with administration of Medicated ghee  selected according to Prakriti, disease. Starting with minimum dose of medicine will be increased daily w.r.t to digestive ability of individual for the total duration of 3-7 days until the body turns soft and oily. Followed by Abhyanga and Swedana  for 3 days. On last day Virechana medicine will be administered that induces purgation results in  eliminations of Pitta dosha (toxins) through rectum for 10-15 times. This helps in the  eradication of disease  from its root level.

BASTI :


Administration of medicines through rectal route is Basti Karma. It is of two types (i) Anuvasana Basti in which Medicated oil/ghee is selected.

(ii) Niruha Basti wherein combinations of decoctions, paste, oil, milk are selected. These medicines are chosen w.r.t disease and prakruti. Anuvasana Basti and Niruha Basti are practiced on alternate days for the total duration of  8 / 15 days. This treatment is  Superior in Panchakarma.

NASYA :

​

Administering the medicated taila, choorna, swarasa through nostrils is Nasya karma. Treatment starts with Abhyanga on head, face, neck follows by swedana with decoctions. After proper sedation Nasya dravya is instilled through the nasal route. This medicine will cross blood brain barrier and rectifies the neurological disorders.

  • Premature graying of hair

  • Hair fall

  • Facial Paralysis

  • Cervical disorders
